Get to Know Your Therapist:
Cindy Guzman, LSW
Hello! I’m Cindy Guzman, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) at RelationshipStore. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, life transitions and men’s issues.
I also work with people dealing with relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, religious trauma, family conflict, grief, and stress management.
In my work, I often focus on how emotions show up in the body. I help clients recognize these physical symptoms as early warning signs so they know when to use the coping skills we’ve developed together. My approach is behaviorally focused, meaning we’ll look at patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses to identify areas for meaningful change. I also emphasize boundary-setting and communication skills, especially when it comes to self-advocacy.
Outside of therapy, I’ve spent time advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and learning more about the experiences of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. It’s important to me that people from all backgrounds, identities, and abilities feel understood and supported.
I take a down-to-earth, human-centered approach to therapy. I see myself as just another person who happened to study this field and I’m here to provide insight, tools, and guidance in a way that feels natural and supportive. I strive to create a space that feels like a genuine conversation - like chatting over coffee - while also encouraging clients to communicate their needs, whether that’s a listening ear, supportive reflection, or having a space to process their emotions.
If you’re feeling unsure about where to start, that’s completely okay. I help clients navigate the process by creating a flexible environment where they can build self-awareness, develop coping strategies, and gain the tools they need to handle life’s challenges.
If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to work with you!
